#005 Mirrors

Take Two by you.
are reflections pure facts?

The idea of  “reflection” has never ceased to amaze me.  There is something fascinating in seeing a copy that is “trapped” on the other side.  These trapped images add “new” dimensions & angles, to your perspective.

Someday I’ll Cross Over…

Sometimes I wish I could cross-over to the other side of the mirror. Know how it is to actually touch and feel and hear and see an actual “me”.  Less of narcissism but more of going through those awkward moments of seeing yourself captured in videos or in bad camera angles and saying “Oh my, is that really me? Is that how I look from the back/side? Is that how my voice sounds? Eeeew!”  Ah it must be real fun.

#004 Superpowers

If you had one, what would it be?

femme fatale by you.

superpowers don't define the heroes

I’ve always wanted to fly.  Other than that, the power to make some things stay the same sounds intruiging… although that would be quite troublesome wouldn’t it?

power of flight by you.

"I am no man!"

#003 Love is a Battlefield

The knight in shining armour is dead.  Instead, everyone is part of the war.  Nobody else will protect your heart but yourself.

Love is a Battlefield by you.

Better go and get your armour.

But no matter how essential it is to be brave and strong, we’re all allowed to have a moment of weakness.  This is why the greatest dream of all artificial intelligence is to be able to shed a few tears.

#002 i STILL love the rain

It’s been raining EVERYDAY here in Manila. I’m starting to hate it.  I’ve cancelled so many plans because of the intermittent heavy downpour.  Because of that I’ve been in bed most of the time… and because of that I remembered how many GREAT MOMENTS of my life happened under the rain.

The strongest of rainshowers SHOULDN'T stop us by you.

here's to the nights we felt alive...

Back when I was in Phuket. I met a couple of English lads at the New Moon Party and we decided to hangout at the beach. We pitched a tent made of stolen resort umbrellas. We smoked and we got drunk. I thought it couldn’t be any better.  UNTIL IT RAINED!

There was this time I was in the train in Singapore. I was on my way to the airport to fetch my French friends.  In the station, there was this tall guy. He was fidgety.  He dropped his bag beside me and kept pacing on the side.  It was a little awkward as we kept on glancing at each other.  When we got into the train, I sat on the opposite side, and then he followed and sat in front of me.  The glancing continued until he shifted and lied down on the seats.  I took a stolen photo of him.  Seconds later, he got up and introduced himself.  Because of him, I’ll be going to Japan soon.

I STILL love the rain by you.

Here's to goodbye. Tomorrow's gunna come too soon.

One day I was utterly depressed because I missed this person badly.  It was my birthday and he was the only one I wanted to share it with.  It was getting late and I decided to call it a day. He’s not coming. I hopped on the last bus home.  I was crying in my seat.  It was raining.  Then my phone rang.  It was him.  He said he just arrived and he’s at the cafe.  I shouted, “STOP THE BUS!!!”  Then I jumped out and ran through the rain.

#001 Taxi!

Taxi! Taxi! by you.

I have officially started my Project 365.  These means I commit myself to producing at least one artwork per day and NO CHEATING.  I’ve been wanting to do this since three years ago when I started working abroad.  Finally!  Here’s to a year of passion and commitment to illustrating fashion + music + art + lifestyle!

Taxi! by you.

This sketch is part of my first fashion illustration collection inspired by the handpainted and reflector pieces of Richard C. Elliott.  This was also influenced by a remix of STRESS by Justice and songs from Crystal Castles.
